David Z Pan

David Z. Pan received his B.S. degree from Peking University and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). From 2000 to 2003, he was a Research Staff Member at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center. He is currently a Full Professor and holds an endowed chair in Electrical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. His research interests include design automation for digital, analog, mixed-signal, and RF integrated circuits, emerging technologies, AI/IC co-optimization, domain-specific accelerators, design for manufacturing, and hardware security. He has published over 500 technical papers and holds 9 U.S. patents. He has also held advisory, consulting, and visiting positions in academia and industry, including at MIT and Google, and has supervised over 50 Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers who now hold key positions in academia and industry. He has served in editorial roles for several leading journals and on the executive and program committees of major conferences, including in leadership positions. He has received numerous honors for his research contributions, and his students have also earned multiple distinctions in major research competitions and dissertation awards.
