Maksim Sonin is a global executive and investor advancing humanitarian, energy, and food security innovation, with leadership over $15B+ industrial portfolios of GDP-impacting projects. He is a Fellow of the Energy Institute (UK), a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (UK), and a member of Stanford’s Center for Fuels of the Future. Sonin has held senior executive roles and served on the boards of major ventures, including leadership over critical infrastructure that was cited by the U.S. White House for enhancing energy security and supporting global economic growth. He has also led the development of world-scale petrochemical, ammonia, and fertilizer complexes, representing a significant share of the globally traded supply. Beyond the energy sector, he served on the board of IPO Club, a venture capital fund, and advised on strategic investments and governance for organizations in emerging and frontier markets. He has worked in a consortium venture with Chevron, Shell, and ExxonMobil, and collaborated with other global leaders. A Sloan Fellow with an MS in Management from Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB), Maksim also holds a PhD in Engineering and an MS in Finance.
