Raju P. Ghimire is a physicist and electronics/electrical engineer at the Air Force Research Laboratory, Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where his research centers on materials and device physics in radiation-rich space environments. He earned his undergraduate degree in Physics from Tribhuvan University in Nepal and, determined to overcome socio-economic barriers, pursued advanced studies in the United States, completing a Master’s in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with a minor in Data Science at South Dakota State University before earning his Ph.D. in Nanoscience and Microsystems Engineering from the University of New Mexico in 2021. During his doctoral studies, he spent 2.5 years as a visiting researcher at the University of Texas at Austin, contributing to advanced semiconductor research, and he also gained industry experience at Micron Technology working on DRAM and NAND memory devices. Beyond his scientific career, he serves in the U.S. Army Reserve.
