Takuya Katayama is an accomplished semiconductor product leader with deep expertise spanning CPU architecture, platform software, imaging technologies, and end-to-end product strategy. Over his career, he has helped shape highly visible technology portfolios. Takuya brings his CPU and platform domain experience to MIPS, a pioneer in RISC processor architectures. At MIPS, he drives software product marketing initiatives with focus on software-first approach that helps modernize the development process of the industry. Before joining MIPS, Takuya served as Product Manager for Intel Atom processors. In this role, he led product definition, development, and go-to-market execution for embedded and IoT segments - expanding the Atom roadmap while partnering closely with engineering, customers, and industry partners to deliver successful products into rapidly evolving markets. Takuya holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Hiroshima University and is an inventor on six Japanese patents and three U.S. patents.
