Tom Gall is the VP of Technology at RISC-V International. Tom has worked in leadership roles for IBM and Linaro, focusing on open source ecosystems.
At Linaro, Tom was Senior Director of Ecosystem engineering, which included the Kernel Working Group, Toolchain Working Group (LLVM and GCC), and Linaro Data Center Group. Tom was the founding Director of the Linaro Consumer Group and worked with a who’s who of consumer electronic companies improving the Android ecosystem.
Prior to Linaro, Tom was employee #7 of the IBM Linux Technology Center. He focused on getting Linux on Power off the ground, was the lead architect for MCP, IBM’s embedded Linux program and worked on Power/EN.
Outside of technology circles, Tom has served as president of several Minnesota nonprofits, former Mayor, written a few plays and is an accomplished fifer.
